Studying and understanding the scriptures is essential to our growth and devotion as Orthodox Christians. We venerate the Gospel by kissing it and reverently bowing down before it. We raise it high in the Divine Liturgy and proclaim 'Wisdom, let us be attentive.' As important as this is, the most valuable use of our time is to read the Bible and prayerfully study it.
