Pastoral Visit to Cuba

Fr. John and several parishioners recently returned from Havana, Cuba where they paid a Pastoral visit to the newly established Greek Orthodox church of St. Nicholas. This beautiful, Byzantine-style Church is the first Church built in Cuba in 40 years! Since its inception, in January 2004, more than 250 Cubans have been baptized into the Greek Orthodox faith. Many of the newly baptized are learning Greek in order to participate in the Liturgy. This display of devotion and faith of our brethren in Cuba, inspires us to further embrace our faith. The Church does its best to provide for the needs of this small parish, but the need is still very great. To make a contribution, please contact Andrea Bakas (818-522-7622) or Beata Stylianos (310-528-2117).
