St. Sophia provides Greek language classes for children from ages 3 to 13. The school's mission is to support parents in their effort to teach their children Greek, to expose our students to Greek culture, and to provide an opportunity to experience Greek heritage and traditions. The school also serves as a valuable resource for families seeking cultural and social activities within our local Greek community.

Children are grouped according to age and level of Greek, and class sizes are limited to approximately 10 students per teacher. In the pre-school classes, the focus is on learning through music, arts and crafts, and games. Beginning with the kindergartners and first-graders, the Greek alphabet and grammar are introduced. As the students progress, they learn to read and write in Greek and also learn about Greek history, geography, traditions, and culture. The school also offers a Greek culture class for older students who have not learned Greek.

In addition to our regular weekly classes, the students also participate in two traditional Greek celebrations each year: October 28 ("Oxi" Day) and March 25 (Greek Independence Day). The students have the opportunity to perform poems and songs in Greek, and also to dress in traditional Greek costumes.
